We’re a Brazilian and Scottish/Spanish couple based near London, and the creators behind Carma Adventures. In 2024, we traded our demanding corporate careers in biomedicine and real estate to pursue what we were truly passionate about: exploring Europe and cracking the code on smarter, stress-free travel.
We don’t believe you have to choose between ticking off iconic bucket-list sights and uncovering hidden local gems — a truly unforgettable trip has both! But we also know the reality of planning it: spending endless hours staring at open tabs, stressing over complex transit routes, worrying about overpaying, and second-guessing conflicting online reviews.
That’s where we come in. We take the trips ourselves, test what actually works on the ground, and handle the overwhelming research headache so you can simply show up and explore with complete confidence.
Through our honest travel blogs, we share real-world destination insights and seasonal tips tested on our own visits. For those who want to skip the planning phase entirely, our mini guides and travel guides come complete with custom Google Maps lists that you can access from any device.

Our story
2020 — The spark in Oxford
Our story started back in 2020 while we were still at university. Carol won a raffle for a night at a 5-star hotel in Oxford, and we decided to use it to celebrate Max’s birthday.
Max had always enjoyed filming, so he suggested making a video review of our stay just for fun. Armed with only our phones, we posted it on our brand-new YouTube channel in December 2021.
That’s where Carma Adventures was born: Car for Carol and Ma for Max! We wanted a channel for our adventures, built as a living digital memory book so we could one day show our future kids the life we lived.
That first video sparked something in us. Soon, we were filming everything from local Brazilian steakhouses to weekend trips in Tenerife, Morocco, and Sicily.
We were having the time of our lives, even if our content back then was a little all over the place!
May 2024 — The terrifying leap
After university, we stepped into full-time corporate jobs in biomedicine and real estate. But as the hours stretched longer, we felt a growing disconnect from the things we truly loved.
While our jobs demanded more and more time, all we wanted was to get home to each other and plan our next trip. By early 2024, we were flying out on Friday nights and landing back Sunday evenings just to squeeze in filming and travel.
We were exhausted, burnt out, and realised we couldn’t give 100% to our dream while giving 75% of our energy to office desks.
So, we made a radical decision. Despite the fear, crying sessions, concerned parents, and friends who thought we were crazy, we handed in our notices, gave up our flat, packed our lives into a storage unit, and booked a one-way ticket to Nepal.
The short version sounds cool, but in reality, it was equal parts thrilling and terrifying.
July 2024 to May 2025 — Living 100 lifetimes in Asia
Our trip to Asia was originally only supposed to last 6 months on our savings.
But as we travelled, we learned to travel smarter, saving where we could, splurging on memorable moments (like a private villa in Bali and bungee jumping from the second-highest bungee in the world), and stretching our budget further than we ever imagined.
Over 11 months, we lived what felt like 100 lifetimes across 11 countries — trekking in Nepal, exploring Japan, walking the Great Wall of China, and navigating complex route logistics. Through every peak, every hard time, and every gruelling travel day, it revealed what we were truly passionate about building: helping others travel smarter with stress-free, real-world tools and advice.
June 2025 — Finding our focus in Europe
We returned to the UK for Max’s sister’s wedding, followed by months of road-tripping through mainland Spain and Tenerife. Exploring Spain gave us a major epiphany: Europe held so many incredible, diverse experiences right on our doorstep.
We realised we didn’t need to fly across the globe to build amazing trips; we wanted to dive deep into Europe, test destinations, and create the most detailed, practical travel advice possible.
Before fully settling down, we headed to Brazil so Carol could get some health checks and recover after catching a few too many nomadic bugs!
Present — Focused on Europe & based near London
We transitioned from full-time nomads back to a quiet home base just outside London.
Having a permanent home gives us the space to prioritise our health, work side by side doing what we love, and build reliable, high-quality travel tools for you.
We regularly head out on European trips to explore new destinations, test routes, and keep our digital guides fresh for your next getaway.
Life behind the lens
Carma Adventures is simply the two of us choosing to build a life together doing what we love.
When the cameras are packed away, the flights are booked, and the routes are mapped, you’ll usually find us at home recharging with a movie night.
We believe travel should feel exciting and inspiring — never like a stressful admin job.
