Pizza In Ksamil That’s Even Better Than Italy’s: A Surprising Find
Ksamil may be known for its stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters, but we didn’t expect to find some of the best pizza of our lives here. After a long day of travelling, starving and in desperate need of a proper meal, we set out to find something filling near our hotel. Little did we know, we were about to stumble upon a place that served pizza even better than the ones we’ve had in Italy.
A Hidden Gem: Abiori Restaurant Pizzeria
It was our first night in Ksamil, and after settling into Emaar Hotel, we decided to take a quick five-minute walk to hunt down some food. We noticed what looked like a stairway leading towards the beach. At first, we weren’t sure if we were about to walk into someone’s private property, but curiosity got the best of us. So, down we went and ended up inside Abiori Restaurant Pizzeria.
Our Orders: Salami Picante and Diavola Pizzas
With the menu in hand, our eyes went straight to the pizza options. Carol decided on the Salami Picante, and Max went for the Diavola – we were both in the mood for something spicy. As we sat there, waiting for our pizzas, we could smell that wood-fired oven doing its magic, and we couldn’t wait to dig in.
The Taste Test: Better Than Italian Pizza?
When the pizzas arrived, they looked mouthwatering – crisp, bubbling edges and that perfectly melted cheese. But the real surprise came with the first bite.
Max’s diavola pizza was just as mind-blowing. The spicy sausage packed tons of flavour without being too overpowering, and the cheese was perfectly gooey and stringy. The combination of fresh toppings and the light, airy crust was like pizza heaven.
Carol’s salami picante pizza was everything she hoped for: a perfect blend of spice and creaminess from the mozzarella. The dough was incredible—soft but still crispy on the edges, making every bite melt in your mouth.
Every bite was bursting with flavour, and we just kept saying, "How is this so good?" We couldn’t believe it. Here we were, in Ksamil, a place we’d never heard of before this trip, eating pizza that was not only great—but dare we say, better than some of the best we had in Italy.
What Makes Abiori’s Pizza Special?
It all came down to the dough. It was soft with a light crisp on the outside, the kind that’s chewy in the middle but still gives you that satisfying crunch. The toppings were fresh and full of flavour, but it was the base that tied everything together. Each slice was a perfect balance of spicy, salty, and slightly sweet, with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. We couldn't get enough.
We expected a good pizza, but this was next-level.
To be completely honest, writing this blog right now in the middle of a tiny island in Indonesia is making me crave that pizza all over again!

Is It Worth the Price?
We had assumed food in Ksamil would be cheaper, but at €9 to €12 for a pizza, the price wasn’t bad at all, especially given how delicious they were. For that kind of quality, we’d happily pay it again. The flavours were honestly some of the best we’ve ever had, and it was a total surprise in the best way.
